It was a case of shock and disbelief as a young girl of about 19 years was found dead in a sack bag at Lemna dump site in Calabar. This brings to three the number of women that have found dead in a suspicious circumstance by the road side or a dump site. The young girl dressed in a black jean trouser and a white top was found dead on Tuesday evening with her arms and legs tied inside a big bag and dumped at the dump site. Her personal
belongings like clothing (bump shorts and trousers), make up kits, comb were also found stuffed inside the bag. Details about the girl was not known as at press time but the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Environment, Mr. Joe Obi-Bissong yesterday said a dead body of the unknown girl was found by scavengers who drew his attention and that of his men to it as the bulldozer was about to push the heavy refuse at the site further. Bissong told The Guardian that, "as the bulldozer was about to push I said wait because we have about 50 trucks that load from the town and we don't even know the one that tipped her with the refuse. The scavenger said as he was looking for metals to carry, he felt the hand of somebody and when the bag was partially opened and a young lady was inside. "Immediately we discovered this, we reported to the police at Federal Housing Police station and some police men went there and the bag was opened and a body very fresh in clean white top and a black trouser was found. "A blood glut covered her mouth and two hers later she started foaming buit what was interesting is that when we opened, we found her belongings inside the bag and we found a rope round her neck which they held the hands together with the leg and tied". He further said, "we found a powder, bump shorts, skirts, trousers inside the bag and this raises some questions suggesting that she must have been killed in the house and dumped at the site. We deposited the body yesterday (Tuesday) at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital" (UCTH). The items were also deposited at the police station.
At the Federal Housing Police station, some news men were referred to the State Police Headquarters as they were still investigating the matter.
Similarly, a young girl under 20 years and properly dressed was found dead and deposited by the road side around Unical Hotel on August 7 while a woman was found dead two weeks ago around Senator Bassey Ewa Drive behind the University of Calabar. Bissong advised members of the public to check with the police or the UCTH if they have a case of a missing girl last seen in a black trouser and a white top.

The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Irene Ugbo confirmed the incidents and said the police was investigating. On the girl that was kiled around Unical Hotel road, she said, 'we learnt part of her body was removed for rituals and we are investigating to know the truth".
