The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two brothers,
Iyiola Kazeem, 19 years and Iyiola Rilwan, 21years for armed robbery at Ota in
Ado-Odo/Ota area of the State.
The duo were arrested were arrested after attacking their
victim, Imafidon Oluwafemi with machete and robbed him of his belongings.
According to the State Police Command's Spokesman, Mr.
Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspects who covered their faces with masks broke into
the apartment of their victim while he was sleeping "and severally
macheted him."
The victim while struggling with them succeeded in unmasking
one of them and recognised him as his neighbour’s son.
A distress call was immediately sent to the Police and the
Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Muiyeedeen Oba led team of anti-robbery men to
the scene and the two suspects were arrested.
Items recovered from the suspects were cutlass and masks.
Oyeyemi also disclosed that the victim was immediately
rushed to Medicare Hospital Ota where he is presently under intensive care
unit.
According to Oyeyemi, the State Commissioner of Police,
Ahmed Iliyasu had ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the Special
Anti-robbery Section, Eleweran Abeokuta for further investigation.
The Commissioner also assured the residents of the State of
adequate security before, during and after yuletide season, saying, "The
Command will not leave any stone unturned in order to rid the State of crime
and criminality."
