President Muhammadu Buhari has extended condolences to the Bamigboye faÂmily on the death of Brigadier-General DÂavid Bamigboye (retired), the first miliÂtary governor of Kwara State.
President Buhari, in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu yesterday said, as a military officer, community leader Âand elder statesman, Gen. Bamigboye, who was well resÂpected for his versatility and leadershiÂp, will be long remembered for his serviÂce to the nation in a variety of roles. Â
President Buhari also payed tribute to his endÂuring commitment to the development of KÂwara State during his tenure as military governor, particularly his far-reaching roles in helping to lay the foundation Âfor an effective education system and ciÂvil service in the State. Â
The President prayed that God Almighty wiÂll comfort his family, friends and assocÂiates in this period of grief and grant Âthe soul of the departed eternal rest.
